Marion Township rezoning near I‑80 raises water and septic concerns from neighboring residents

Ford referenced a July 18 letter from Ray Stallonis at the Center County Planning Office and said the area has been designated by the Susquehanna River Basin Commission as a high‑potential recharge area. She noted that DEP has commented on septic feasibility in the area and that a proposed truck stop (one of the first commercial uses mentioned in planning materials) would have high water demand.
Her request to council was procedural: she asked Bellefonte’s representative on the Nittany Valley Joint Planning Commission to raise infrastructure concerns with Marion Township and to seek technical input from agencies such as the Susquehanna River Basin Commission.
