Norfolk County approves grouped personnel actions, hires and payroll warrants

Norfolk County Commissioners voted on a slate of personnel and payroll items at their Nov. 26 meeting, approving grouped resignations, several appointments and payroll warrants.
Commissioners consolidated multiple personnel notices—including seasonal golf associate resignations and other position notices—into a single grouped motion to reduce the need for individual roll-call votes. The list included named seasonal employees and coaching resignations for high-school athletic staff. A friendly amendment corrected one employee’s name during the approval.
The commission approved contingent appointments of two student laborers at Norfolk County Agricultural High School, Liam Onitsky and Alexander Pimentel, effective Nov. 27, 2025. It also approved an address-change record and related personnel paperwork for a cafeteria worker, Thomas Lombardi, and accepted the retirement notice of Mark Coette, director of information technology, with the effective date noted in the record.
Separately, commissioners approved a retroactive wage adjustment for Patrick Higgins in his role as county surveyor, effective July 1, 2025. The board also grouped the payroll and expense warrants into one vote and approved a county payroll sum of $145,492.87 and a school payroll sum of $461,208.51, both recorded on the warrant list for 11/26/21.
All motions on these items were moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
