The Orange County Schools policy committee moved a large slate of fall statutory updates and policy-manual items to the full board for first reading by consensus. Speaker 6 and Speaker 1 summarized the group's recommendations late in the meeting, enumerating multiple policy numbers across the fall-update stack and the policy-manual cleanup. Items moved to first reading (by consensus) included: 1740, 1750, 2125, 2302, 3101, 3220, 3225, 3226, 3227, 3400, 3460, 4050, 2041, 4150, 4240, 5150, 6310, 7425 and many others in the 4000–7000 series and transportation/operations codes.
Committee actions included: (a) converting some regulations/procedures/forms from the policy manual into district website forms or procedures (for example, removing duplicate 4600 attachments and placing the student-fee form on the district website), (b) asking staff to correct mislabeled policy numbers and cross references before full-board review, and (c) recommending 'not adopt' for a small number of optional NCSBA model policies where staff and the committee preferred existing local language. Most moves were recorded as consensus recommendations rather than recorded roll-call votes.
The committee adjourned after recording the consolidated slate of first-reading referrals. Those items will appear on the upcoming full-board agenda for formal first reading.
