Crafton council adopts discrimination ordinance, approves small tax refunds and consent agenda

Crafton Borough Council on Nov. 24 adopted Ordinance 1681, approving changes to Chapter 95 of the borough code to align sections 95-3 through 95-6 with county law and to repeal most of sections 95-7 and 95-8, which included the borough’s EEO board. Manager Price introduced the ordinance as an advertised amendment and moved for adoption; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Price told council the revision was advertised and that the borough had received prior comments that led to changes; he said no new comments were received during the advertising period. A council member asked for clarification that the ordinance addressed procedures for claims; Price said the changes streamline claims procedures and match county language.
The council also approved a package of 2024–25 real-estate tax refunds submitted by Jordan Tax Service totaling $3,094.74. Manager Price moved to approve the refunds “as prepared and submitted by Jordan Tax Service”; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved the consent agenda (minutes, bill list and routine reports) for Nov. 24, 2025, pending signatures from the borough president, manager and treasurer. All three items passed by voice vote.
What’s next: the zoning code vote and other timetable items discussed by staff will return to council at the Dec. 11 meeting, when the budget vote is also scheduled.
