Board policies: community schools adopted; telehealth expanded; three policies open for public comment

Ms. Welsh updated PCAC members on recent Board of Education action and items open for comment. She said the Board voted Dec. 1 to adopt a community‑schools policy and to expand telehealth services to middle and high school students via a contracted provider.
On policies open for public comment, she named three items: a revised Title IX policy (policy 0104) updated to reflect 2024 U.S. Department of Education rule changes; policy 8103 governing participation in meetings electronically; and policy 8265 covering the evaluation of the superintendent of schools. Welsh said administrative procedures for telehealth were being finalized and that the telehealth service is already being made available through the district’s contract with a vendor.
Members asked whether the superintendent and board evaluations would be performed by board members or by an external reviewer. Welsh said the new ad hoc evaluation committees for board and superintendent work under the broader 8100 committee structure and that the committee has not yet decided the evaluation tools or whether a third party would be used.
PCAC members also raised technical questions about public comment deadlines and Welsh said public comment windows are typically open for two weeks and that staff would check deadlines to ensure the web dates are accurate.
The report was informational; no PCAC formal action was taken on the policies during this meeting.
