PGCPS Climate Change Action Plan committee holds virtual meeting; agenda adopted, minutes approved

The Prince George’s County Public Schools Climate Change Action Plan ad hoc committee convened virtually on Dec. 10, 2025. Chair Pamela Buzer Struthers opened the meeting, the roll was called and with 12 members present a quorum was declared.
The committee adopted the 12/10/2025 meeting agenda after the chair noted a planned reordering of items and approved the Oct. 29, 2025 meeting minutes without correction. The committee then heard three presentations: a director of sustainability report that summarized eight CCAP priority areas and recent grant applications; a Langley Park Civic Association case study proposing a food forest at McCormick Elementary; and combined presentations from the Department of Sustainability and Resilience and Food Nutrition Services on a new Administrative Procedure 0111 (Reduction of Wasted Food), composting expansion and local‑food procurement pilots.
The meeting included Q&A on tree sourcing and student training, operational details about share tables and donations, and discussion of how to track adoption and donation data. The chair adjourned the meeting at 6:04 PM and announced the next virtual committee meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18, 2026 at 4:30 PM.
