Seven Hills directs rebid of Skyview water-line and paving work after bids exceed estimates

City Engineer Gerson told the council that bids for the Skyview water-line and supplemental paving on Skyview Drive came in at more than 110% of the engineer's estimate, which prevents the city from awarding the contracts based on those bids.
"They were at excess of, 110% of the engineer's estimate," Gerson said, and recommended rebidding the projects. The council moved to rebid both the Skyview water-line project and the supplemental paving project; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
Engineer Gerson said the projects would likely be rebid in early January and that staff would report back when new bids were received. No contract awards were made at the Dec. 16 meeting.
