Council approved an order (referencing Ordinance No. 8627) to authorize purchase of a new snow truck and plow and to switch the funding source from the 204 fund to the water distribution fund (591538). Staff explained that savings from a waterline project created sufficient cash in the water distribution fund to pay for the truck without financing.
Unidentified Speaker 9 explained that paying in cash would save several thousand dollars versus financing and noted the truck delivery took most of the year. Council members moved and seconded the measure and voted to adopt the ordinance authorizing the purchase and fund switch.
The adopted action lets the city accept delivery and pay for the truck from available water distribution funds rather than incur debt service on a financing arrangement.
