Andy Witt and Representative Danny Crawford presented a proclamation at the start of the Limestone County Commission work session honoring former Commissioner Daryl N. Samet, who died Nov. 22, 2025, at age 72.

At the podium, Andy Witt read the resolution’s text, which described Samet’s four terms on the commission and praised his “dedication, humility, and integrity.” The resolution, offered on behalf of Governor Kay Ivey and the state of Alabama, listed surviving family members and concluded with the commission’s sympathy to the Samet family.

Chairman and other commissioners paused business briefly to receive the family and thank those who came forward. The commission returned to regular agenda items after the presentation and a short period of public acknowledgements.
