Resident says recent paving left 2‑inch step, village staff says project incomplete

Resident David DeSager told the Royal Palm Beach council that intersections paved last month did not match the subsequently paved main road, leaving an uneven two‑inch difference and mismatched lanes near the fire station. He said some residential roads have not been paved in decades and described recurring pothole problems on Misty Lane.
"There's a 2 inch height difference between the new paving and the paving that was done 3 months ago," DeSager said, adding that residents want corrective work rather than temporary patches. He asked staff to follow up with engineering.
Village staff responded that the paving contract is not finished and that crews mill surfaces before completing side streets and overlays. The village manager said crews "mill it, and then they put it, 2 layers down...It will be smooth and really nice when it is finished." The manager also encouraged residents to check the engineering department website for the list of roads included in the current program.
Council thanked the resident for raising the issue and asked staff to follow up with engineering to confirm schedule and scope for remaining work.
