Resident complains resurfacing work stalled on Belvedere Road; county says permit is in place and work will finish within a month

A Counterpoint Estates resident told the council that Belvedere Road resurfacing left intersections unfinished for weeks. County staff said the maintenance-of-traffic permit is issued and the work is scheduled and should be done within a month.
At the Nov. 20 Royal Palm Beach Village Council meeting, resident Dave Sager pressed village and county staff for a firm completion date after milling and temporary tar patches were left on Belvedere Road, making crosswalks and striping impassable and creating driving hazards.
Sager said his engineering contacts told him milling was to begin Nov. 10 and paving to be completed Nov. 18, but he reported no paving had occurred by Nov. 20. County staff member Chris said the county had issued the necessary permit and approved the maintenance-of-traffic plan and that the contractor is scheduled to complete work within about a month, subject to weather and operational factors. The manager asked county staff to follow up directly with Sager to provide a more specific start date.
Council asked staff to update the resident and noted multi-agency coordination can complicate schedules; the county reiterated it expects completion within roughly a month. No formal council action was required beyond staff follow-up.
