Central Region and local schools report midyear check-ins and student activities

The Central Region representative said progress monitoring 2 (midyear assessments) is under way for multiple grade levels and described a layered data review process — from district- and school-level summaries down to grade, teacher and student analyses — to identify strengths and areas of improvement. The representative said she will return with data at the next meeting.
Highlights from specific schools included H.L. Johnson (named the district’s Safe Schools Ambassadors School of the Month), Cypress Trail’s fall fundraiser and World Kindness Day events, and a 2,659-item Thanksgiving food drive at Royal Palm Beach Elementary. Crestwood Middle School provided service and gifts to a senior living facility and hosted Choice Academy night; Crestwood also earned a Safe Schools Ambassadors Award. Royal Palm Beach High School items included JROTC recognition and a recent Division I athletic signing by Rohel Brown Jr.
Speakers also noted student involvement in DECA and fundraising with Feeding South Florida, a blood drive, National Honor Society inductions and Holocaust-education exhibits. Board members praised the schools and encouraged continued community engagement.
What happens next: The Central Region representative said she plans to return with midyear assessment data for board review; liaisons asked the board to visit schools and attend upcoming SAC and career-day events.
