Festival of Lights contribution: Council approved a $10,000 contribution for this year's Festival of Lights; staff clarified the donation is a regular contribution for the current year and next year the item will be considered under the video-gaming fund process.
Police firearms purchase: Council approved a resolution to waive bidding and accept a proposal from Acme Sports to purchase new firearms for the Jacksonville Police Department (not to exceed $66,308). Chief Thompson told council he expects to use federally forfeited funds to pay for the purchase so as not to impact the operating budget.
Sewer-use code update: Council adopted an ordinance replacing the existing sewer-use article with updated sewer-use and wastewater regulations; staff thanked Missy for substantial work on the code rewrite.
