Staff asked the board to initiate a request for proposals (RFP) to secure contracted economic and community development services when the current contract ends in December. The presenter said the county’s EDA program has had 94% of loan payments made to date, with approximately 14 active EDA loans and interest earned on county loans.
Commissioners voiced support for continuing contracted EDA services, noting the value of relationship building beyond loan administration. A motion to begin the RFP process was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff said the proposed RFP would cover economic and community development, intergovernmental partnerships, public engagement and strategic planning to mirror existing services while allowing bidders to propose enhancements.
