Council approves Cirrus Cloud migration agreement for city financial software

The Jacksonville City Council voted to accept a Cirrus Cloud migration agreement with Springbrook Software Dec. 1, approving the contract recommended by the city clerk.
During the clerk’s report, the city clerk explained the planned migration of the city’s financial software to the cloud and said the project had been budgeted at about $160,000. The clerk added that after migration the city expected roughly $30,000 more per year in ongoing costs for each affected department and that the utility department could opt to remain on-premise if custom reports (Missy Young’s reports) could not be reproduced in the cloud.
Council members voted on the resolution in the regular meeting; roll-call responses recorded unanimous approval and the motion carried. The clerk and city attorney framed the vote as acceptance of the migration agreement; the council did not amend contract terms during the meeting.
