Board member Miss Dacen asked how the change would affect families; Doctor Munro said there is no increase to the district’s vendor cost and reiterated that the district’s waiver process remains in place for students who qualify for free lunch. “That waiver process still remains in place for those students who are free, free lunch,” Doctor Munro said.
Miss Speese moved to approve the contract as presented and Miss Davis seconded. Mister Stout called for a roll-call vote; all members voted yes and the motion carried.
The approval keeps JDS as the district’s driver education vendor and establishes the updated student fee; the district will continue to assist families with the waiver paperwork when needed. The board did not specify an exact annual revenue impact to the district from the fee change.
