West Geauga board approves multiple routine resolutions, staff appointments and transportation purchases

At its regular meeting the West Geauga Local Board approved numerous routine items on the consent and action agendas. Resolutions passed included approval of routine matters and warrants (Resolution 4-32, 4-33), acceptance of donations (4-34), advances and appropriation adjustments (4-35, 4-36), student activity budgets for 2025–26 (4-37), and multiple staffing motions including appointments, resignations, and retirements (4-38 through 4-45 series). The board also approved service agreements and contract amendments (including Safe House Preparatory and ABA Outreach addendum) and engaged legal counsel McGowan & Markling Company LPA to assist with an insurance/public records matter (Resolution 4-54).

Transportation procurement items authorized by the board included purchases of school bus chassis/bodies and passenger vans after competitive processes and local bidding; members noted cost savings from broader solicitation. The board welcomed central-office appointment Kristen Montag, accepted retirements including Diane Martin’s forthcoming departure and approved certified and classified staffing changes and supplemental contracts. Most items were moved, seconded, and approved by roll call; roll-call responses listed those present and affirmative votes.

Board packets and staff clarified that some contract amendments reflected changes in scope or added services and that certain legal fees were being handled through the district’s insurance carrier.
