The mayor used the weekly update to offer practical safety advice for residents leaving town for the holidays and to promote local activities, while the program host recapped recent local sports results.
“If you're heading home for the holidays and that home is not here, it happens. … make sure your doors and windows are all locked … put a hold on your mail, especially if you're gonna be gone for a long period of time,” the mayor advised, urging residents to remove valuables, use timers on lights, and avoid posting travel plans on social media.
The mayor also promoted a community-center "New Year's New You" membership: "For 3 months, you can pay $65 for a 3 month period of time," available from Dec. 1 through Jan. 31; registration began Dec. 1 and residents can register at the community center.
On local sports, the program host, Kyle Johansen (the show's moderator), reported: "So men's won last night, 89 to 56 against Ohio Wesleyan," and previewed upcoming home games and promotions including an 'ugly sweater' theme and a free Bobcats Santa hat for the first 150 fans.
The mayor and host closed by inviting listeners to the program's final weekly update of 2025 next Tuesday at 2 p.m.
