The Starr County Commissioners Court approved the purchase of a 10-acre property for a juvenile justice center during its Dec. 22 meeting.

The presiding judge described the parcel as being "on 3167 just north of the, I guess, DPS, Medina Electric." The judge said the county really needs about five acres but considered the 10-acre price favorable and indicated funds were available. A motion and second were recorded and commissioners voted in favor; the transcript records the motion as carried.
