Fiscal Court backs sanitation districtrequest for $6M and approves draw reimbursements

The court unanimously adopted a sanitation district resolution asking the Kentucky General Assembly to provide $6,000,000 to expand sanitary sewer services in the county. A sanitation-district representative read the resolution and explained it updated a prior request (previously $5.2 million). "...offer that support to represent James Allen Tipton seek additional 6,000,000, from the Kentucky General Assembly for expansion and grama of sanitary sewer services in Spencer County, Kentucky," the reader stated while presenting the text.
Separately, the court approved Draw #8 for the Sanitation District, a request of roughly $18,000 to reimburse operational and contractor costs including fencing and survey work; the sanitation district will use its operations account for the initial payout and the county will reimburse the district from the grant draw when the funds arrive. The court also approved a previously presented payment request of $54,900 to Elder Construction for topsoil, drainage and site work on the main project.
County and district representatives clarified the cash flows: the sanitation district fronts certain invoices from operations and then seeks reimbursement from KIA/grant draws submitted through the county. Members asked for continued transparency on the project budget and reimbursement timing.
Next steps: the sanitation district will pursue the state appropriation and staff will continue to process draw requests and present invoices for reimbursement.
