Rossford committees launch parks survey, outline marina rules and pursue trail, lighting and creek-access work

On the marina, the committee said the city purchased part of the Marina North Wall from a private citizen and is coordinating with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to update county records so the North Wall is recorded as within Rossford rather than Toledo. The committee proposed changes to marina rental rules: require full payment at time of rental to receive a decal, assign docks on a first-come-first-served basis to reduce confusion, and fine boats left beyond the marina closure date.
Committee reports included the purchase of a goose-deterrent device (described as a 'Goosinator') for Veterans Park to be operated by city employees beginning in February. Public Works reported it is requesting proposals to upgrade the Indian Hills trail system and evaluate whether solar parking-lot lighting can avoid trenching. Tetra Tech is working on creating public creek access on Colony Court tied to catch-basin work, with work continuing into 2026 as weather allows. The committee also noted the Veterans Park pathway is complete and solar lights will be installed by a local utility.
Committee leaders encouraged residents to complete the survey, which will be available online and in person at the rec center;
no formal council action was required for these reports, but several items involve future contracting and engineering work.
