Rossford City Council adopts 2026 budget and approves package of year-end ordinances and resolutions

The Rossford City Council on Dec. 8 adopted the city's 2026 annual appropriation measure and approved several related ordinances and resolutions during a meeting that also included a public-works update and resident comments.

Finance director Chris summarized the 2026 budget before the vote, saying the spending plan totals about $24.5 million in expenses against roughly $20 million in expected revenues. Of that amount, Chris said, $6.8 million is earmarked for public safety (about $3.4 million each for police and fire), $1.4 million for public-works operations and $5.2 million for infrastructure projects, including pedestrian hybrid beacons on Superior Street and resurfacing of Highland, Homestead, Birch, Cherry, Hidden Cove and Harbor Point.

Council then moved for adoption of Ordinance 2025-98, the annual appropriation measure for Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026, and recorded a roll-call vote in which members voted to approve the ordinance.
