Trustees rescind Policy 1006 on diversity and approve Neon Foundation Impact Center naming

Chris Phillips, vice president of alumni engagement and philanthropy and executive director of the Austin Peay Foundation, presented a naming committee recommendation to name the new home of the university food pantry and offices of community engagement and sustainability on College Street the Neon Foundation Impact Center. Phillips described the gift as a "gift-in-place" donation under state procedures and said the naming committee recommended the designation in accordance with APSU naming policy.
Trustees asked for clarification on how a gift-in-place works; Phillips explained the process and that the costs to produce the facility are recognized as a donation or gift-in-kind to the foundation. The motion to approve the naming request was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
