Peabody council approves bulk package of 2026 license renewals

Peabody — The City Council approved a large package of license renewals for 2026 on Thursday under suspension of the rules, covering class‑1, class‑2 and class‑3 motor vehicle dealer licenses, entertainment licenses, general licenses, inn‑holder licenses and lodging‑house permits.
Councilor Cherco and others read and moved multiple sections of the renewal list, which included named businesses such as Acura of PVD, Audi PVD, BMW of PVD, Treadwell’s (ice cream), several restaurants and bar venues, and chain hotels including the Boston Marriott and Hampton Inn. The council took sectional roll‑call votes permitting bulk approval by category.
Councilors discussed individual items only briefly. Councilor Turco asked about the Holiday Inn renewal and was told that the application had sign‑offs from the fire and health departments; the council approved that item as well. The clerk and licensing staff will process the renewals and note any outstanding conditions in departmental records.
