"Both intersections were closed for a solid two weeks," she said, adding that closures would recur while signal equipment is replaced.
Members also described a developer‑installed 'no sidewalk' sign at Pheasant Crossing that was only removed after neighborhood residents contacted Alder Henairo. Brad Burkel said the committee should not rely on citizens policing contractors and recommended the city establish clearer enforcement and financial penalties for improper closures.
Committee members asked staff to bring the topic to Public Works and scheduled a joint meeting (targeting September) to discuss enforcement, the streets budget and a five‑year street improvement plan.
No formal enforcement action was taken at the meeting; staff committed to add the item to Public Works’ joint meeting agenda.
