Committee members discussed repeated incidents of people accessing the cell tower area and recommended moving forward with a fence and gate paid from the golf-course capital budget.
Jeremy said staff had observed kids hopping the fence and parking at the cell tower, and he asked the committee to recommend approval of the quote so the item could go to Finance and Common Council. The chair moved approval, the motion received two seconds and members voted by voice (ayes) to forward the recommended fencing and gate to the Finance Committee and Common Council for final action.
Committee members noted the quarry had posted no-trespassing signs but that signs alone had not stopped the behavior; staff and members said the cost will be managed within Pleasant View Golf Course capital expenditures and will not seek funds from other departments. The item will appear on the Finance Committee and Common Council agendas for final approval.
