Staff found the school’s proposed arts and theater programming consistent with the 2045 comprehensive plan guidance for educational uses in low-density residential areas when accompanied by appropriate conditions.
Applicant presentation Founder Krista John said the program serves principally homeschool students and offers visual arts, theater, music, STEM and backstage production classes. She told commissioners the site was previously a daycare, requires minimal interior changes and will rely on existing parking; staff concluded the parking and staggered schedules would limit traffic impacts.
Community support More than a dozen public speakers — including children and parents — spoke in favor of the school’s Page-to-Stage children’s theater program and the broader arts and enrichment opportunities it would provide to homeschool families.
Outcome A motion to recommend approval passed on roll call. Staff will forward the recommendation and conditions to the Board of Supervisors for final action; site-plan and building-permit reviews will follow any county approval.
