Under the bid, B and W proposed adding 16 cents per gallon to vendor cost in November through February and 13 cents for the remaining months; Ben said the pricing is within about $100 of last year’s district spend when applied to the district’s annual gallonage. He also noted operational benefits: 24/7 fueling access and an electronic key system that tracks gallons by bus.
Trustees asked how winter pricing compared to summer and Ben explained the net annual cost is similar to recent years given the offsetting seasonal margins. The board moved and approved the fuel contract as presented.
Next steps: Transportation staff will execute the bid award and use the vendor’s billing/tracking tools; staff said they can reconcile monthly bills in 15–20 minutes using current processes.
