Renovation progressing; board approves Friends-funded shelving purchase

Board members asked where the old shelving would go; Tom said state sale procedures apply and, if unsold, the library may have to discard large items such as a display case or large table.
The board voted to approve the Friends-funded shelving purchase; a board member moved, another seconded, and the motion passed by voice vote. Tom also said the community room must be available for programming and renovation timelines will determine whether a planned open house can proceed.
Next steps: the director will confirm scheduling with the contractor and follow up on network completion; the Friends will contact the vendor to finalize shelving purchase.
