During the Dec. 15 special session, the Forest Grove School District Board of Directors filled three budget committee positions.

Directors reported four initial candidates for the committee (one withdrew) and recommended Nicholas Hafez for a three-year term. A board member moved to appoint Hafez to a term ending June 30, 2028; the motion was seconded and the board approved the appointment by voice vote.

The board then moved to appoint Susan Field to complete a budget committee term. The initial motion as read included an end date of June 30, 2025; a director pointed out that date had already passed and the board amended the motion to change the term end to June 30, 2026. The amended motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Finally, the board appointed Megan Baer as a one-year alternate to the budget committee with a term ending June 30, 2026; that motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

All appointments were handled during the meeting's action-items portion, and the board adjourned at 11:40 a.m.
