Beech Grove board approves personnel recommendations and 2025–26 teacher handbook

The Beech Grove City Schools board on Dec. 9 approved personnel recommendations covering actions dated 11/07/2025–12/04/2025 and adopted the district’s 2025–26 teacher handbook.

Board President asked for and received motions to approve the employment slate “with salaries within the parameter of the approved salary schedule” and to adopt the teacher handbook; both motions were seconded and carried by voice vote. The meeting record does not list individual roll-call vote tallies.

Mr. Garman, presenting the personnel and operations update, told the board the district "got our authorization letter to hire from the Department of the Army for Nicholas Smith," who will begin Monday to staff the JROTC program. He noted the federal program requires two instructors, a condition that affects staffing and funding.

Garman also said the district had success filling a midyear math vacancy: "Mr. Morgan looks, I think, had a lot of success there" and will bring a recommendation. He praised the food-service team for Thanksgiving meals that drew community praise and reported a leaking roof near the high-school weight room that received a temporary repair and will be addressed in the spring.

The approvals completed routine board business and allowed administrators to implement the personnel changes and handbook provisions approved at the meeting. The board adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
