The Temple Terrace City Council on Dec. 2 approved on first reading the city’s annual update to the capital improvements schedule, a program staff said totals about $39 million across fiscal years 2026–2030 and includes a 10‑year transportation project list through 2035.
Deputy community development director Marissa Robinson said Florida statute requires the planning commission and city to update the capital improvements element annually. She told council the planning commission approved a resolution finding the CIP consistent with the comprehensive plan on Oct. 13, 2025.
Robinson said the schedule is programmatic and subject to change during annual budgeting cycles; it records anticipated funding sources and timing but does not, by itself, authorize construction. A public commenter suggested the city explore solar‑powered transit options; staff said those are topics for future planning and budget discussions.
Councilmember moved and the ordinance passed on first reading by voice vote; a second reading and final hearing will be set for Dec. 16.
