A council member moved, another seconded and the council approved the reappointments by voice vote; an abstention was announced during the roll but the chair declared the motion carried.
Murphy then summarized a recommended reallocation of $500,000 in Ready 2 funds that the county proposes the state split between two projects: $325,000 for the Washington Street corridor in Knightstown, which would better connect Hoosier Gym to downtown, and $175,000 for a permanent Miracle League field at Osborne Park. He told the council the reallocations would be covered within the county’s previously approved $1,000,000 local match and that the county’s Ready leadership group and regional steering committee had recommended the redistribution. Murphy said, “I am here to ask you to, approve the following match from the food and beverage,” and listed local-match figures intended to fit inside the $1,000,000 cap.
Council members confirmed the two projects had been on the original Ready 2 submission list and then moved to approve the request. The council approved the reallocation by voice vote; Murphy noted the recommendation still requires state approval before those Ready 2 dollars are released.
