Licensing office moves dozens of renewals forward; some approvals held pending inspections

Staff told the board multiple establishments had submitted renewal payments but several remained outstanding on required "3 or 4" inspections. The office reported collecting $213,000 in one month from renewal fees and permits. Board members recommended licenses that had not completed the required inspections be held until inspections are finished. "We have to send this after the seventeenth to the ABCC," a staff member said, referring to the timeline for forwarding renewals.
The board moved to approve the renewals package and to forward documentation to the state ABCC after the inspections are completed and the 17th date has passed. Staff will resume enforcement follow-up for locations that missed payment or inspection requirements, including a Portuguese American club that was flagged for nonpayment and past gambling-machine concerns.
Next steps: staff will collect outstanding inspection reports, complete required inspections, and send the renewal package to the ABCC after Dec. 17.
