The Budget & Finance Committee voted Dec. 11 to forward to the full council a request to expend grant funds and local match for a stormwater asset-management planning project.
Water & Sewer Commissioner Hale said the grant (identified by staff as grant number 18979) is a second-round award intended to deepen analysis of CCTV footage and in-field inspections to identify defects, perform risk analysis and feed a master plan and financial model for future projects. Hale said the Water & Sewer Department will contribute about $30,000 in in-kind services (staff time and equipment) and a $66,000 cash match; staff described the total project cost as $240,000.
Council members asked that the department present a future update on flooding conditions and planned projects; Hale agreed to provide updates. The committee voted to send the item to the full council with a favorable recommendation with roll-call yes votes recorded from Councilor Wendy Luzon, Council President Giovanni Rodriguez and Chair Stephanie Fante.
The committee did not alter grant terms; final authorization and appropriation will be decided by the full City Council.
