During the regular meeting the Depew Union Free School District board approved several routine items by voice vote.
The board approved the consent agenda (minutes of Nov. 16, personnel, financial matters). On the superintendent’s recommendation, it approved first readings of district policy sections 1000, 2000 and 6000. A motion to waive future readings of those sections also passed. The board accepted a $700 donation from World Class Taekwondo to buy physical-education equipment for the Hugo Heights physical-education department. The board also authorized declaration of the attached list of access equipment as surplus.
Later in the meeting the board appointed Patrick Law as pro tempore district clerk so the district clerk (named as Nigel in the transcript) could be excused. The board moved into executive session to discuss collective negotiations and confidential student educational/medical/disciplinary records; it reconvened and adjourned by motion later in the evening.
All motions recorded in open session were moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote; the transcript records the board’s voice votes as "Aye" and indicates motions carried. Where individual roll-call votes were not read, the tally is recorded as voice unanimous among the five members present.
