Atmos Energy outlines assistance programs, pipeline replacement timeline for Seymour

An Atmos Energy representative briefed the Seymour City Council Dec. 18 on customer-assistance options and local infrastructure work. The representative said Atmos donated $30,000 to Rolling Plains and $60,000 to Catholic Charities’ Wichita Falls office to help residents with energy bills and encouraged residents to contact Atmos for assistance or to file a claim if work by Atmos crews has damaged private property.
On the company’s local pipeline work, the presenter said project specialists forecast completion before July, barring accidents or other unanticipated setbacks. The representative acknowledged construction disturbs streets and advised residents to photograph road conditions before and after permitted work so the company can investigate and, if Atmos is responsible, compensate property owners.
Atmos also said it has submitted a $2,500 request to donate to the local volunteer fire department as a goodwill gesture and urged residents to seek assistance through the Atmos Energy website or customer service line.
Council members thanked the representative and asked staff to continue coordination with contractors and report citizen claims to Atmos for investigation.
