Council considered Resolution 83‑2025 authorizing a contract with Bonded Chemicals Inc. for up to $85,514.80 for sodium permanganate, fluoride and related treatment chemicals. Jack Evans of the water department told council the city conducts joint bidding with Erie County and the city of Sandusky and said the overall chemical costs rose about 11% this year; some chemicals saw price decreases while others increased (one line showed a 30% increase tied to a vendor error).
Council then considered and approved Resolution 84‑2025 (Applied Specialties — up to $134,640), Resolution 85‑2025 (Rentag Great Lakes — up to $22,770) and Resolution 86‑2025 (JCI Jones Chemicals Inc. — up to $31,544.80). Evans explained vendor roles — coagulants, caustic soda for pH adjustment, chlorine for disinfection, and other products — and invited questions; none were raised during the meeting.
All four resolutions were adopted on roll‑call votes at the Nov. 25 meeting.
