Council approves Kleinfelder contract for inspections on 2 MG elevated water tower

City staff told council on Dec. 9 that the foundation for the 2-million-gallon elevated water tower has been poured and that construction observation and specialty tank inspection services with Kleinfelder Group are needed as the project moves into the construction phase.
Resolution 88-2025 authorizes $82,490 to Kleinfelder for construction observation and for Nelson Tank to perform specialty tank inspections as part of the work. "This is basically executing the second part of our engineering and design agreement with Kleinfelder, who's the design engineer on this project," a city representative said.
Staff said the foundation pour was completed on schedule and that pedestal construction is expected to start after the new year; the resolution passed and staff will coordinate inspection services with the construction schedule.
