Bronx CB11 leadership adopts YouTube recordings as minutes, reviews calendar and flags housing cases

At its leadership meeting, Bronx Community Board 11’s leadership group announced a procedural change to its minutes policy, reviewed the upcoming full-board agenda and calendar and discussed several neighborhood housing cases and attendance issues.

Vice Chair Richard Reynoso told the committee that, following a review of the Open Meetings Law, the board will reflect YouTube recordings as the official minutes for committee meetings and will attempt to have transcripts produced via an AI tool for back-end use. A subsequent clarification referenced subsection 106 of the Open Meetings Law during the discussion.

The committee moved to the full-board agenda. Jeremy (a board member who ran the screen-share) noted three motions that would be added to the agenda, described committee updates and announced logistics for a public hearing scheduled for Thursday the twentieth at Einstein College of Medicine. Leadership also reviewed committee attendance and said Parks and Transportation committee members had not attended leadership meetings since June; staff was asked to follow up on attendance records.

Members raised housing cases at 2560 Boston Road, 2910 Foster Road and 2910 Wallace Avenue and reported that some residents in those buildings remain in shelters; leaders said they plan to press elected officials for action at Thursday’s meeting and to reach out beforehand. One member said they had begun discussions with the Department of Buildings about providing a basic briefing for the district on demolition notices and will email details to set that up.

The committee discussed January and December committee calendars, debated a permanent meeting time change for a committee and spoke about holiday-party vendor options and city-vendor rules. The meeting concluded after a short gallery session; a motion to adjourn was seconded and the meeting was adjourned by voice vote at 07:42. The chair noted the leadership committee will follow up on attendance and housing outreach before the next full-board meeting.

No formal bylaws or policy votes were recorded during this leadership session; the chair listed bylaws, economic development and health and social services as items intended for upcoming votes on the full-board agenda.
