Vendor credits Boyle County EMS with improved revenue; court authorizes ambulance bid

Representatives of AMV Mars presented Nov. 25 to the Boyle County Fiscal Court, saying the vendor’s work with Boyle County EMS since 2019 helped increase annual collections and reduce claim deficiencies.
Philip Sanderson of AMV Mars told the court annual collections rose from about $1.58 million to roughly $2.1 million after audits, training, and documentation improvements. The vendor said deficiencies dropped substantially — to about 3.36% in 2024 — after coordinated compliance work, which the vendor and county EMS leaders said saved taxpayer dollars and reduced risk of federal payback.
County leaders discussed uncompensated care and state and federal policy that affect ambulance reimbursement; AMV Mars said broader legislative changes are needed to address uncompensated transports.
Separately the court authorized staff to advertise a bid for a new ambulance expected for delivery in 2027. Estimated cost discussed at the meeting was between $275,000 and $300,000. The court approved the advertisement by voice vote.
