Consultant Verigee tells Bolivar board district facilities are generally sound but flags several near‑term projects
Summary
Verigee consultant Sage Acorn told the board most schools’ HVAC systems have 10+ years of useful life but identified mixed roofing conditions, opportunities for LED lighting upgrades, interior door/fire‑rating issues and critical tuck‑pointing and HVAC needs at the administrative building.

A facilities consultant from Verigee presented a district‑wide assessment to the board, saying most buildings are in generally good shape while recommending a set of prioritized repairs and upgrades.
"Red's critical. Yellow means you're in pretty good shape. Green means you're doing great," Sage Acorn said while walking the board through a color‑coded condition map of district buildings. He commended the district for standardized roofing choices and noted that high school HVAC systems appear to have roughly another 10 years of useful life while some roof sections across campuses will need attention in the next three to five years.
The Verigee presentation recommended efficiency upgrades — notably replacing T8 lighting with LED fixtures to produce near‑term utility savings — and flagged security/controlled‑entrance monitoring as a consideration at several sites. At the primary and intermediate schools, Acorn noted mixed window conditions, some original interior doors that are not fire‑rated and instances of asbestos flooring that should be addressed during planned renovations.
Acorn said the administrative building will likely need more immediate attention: outdated HVAC components, window‑unit cut‑ins and deteriorating tuck‑pointing that, if not addressed, could lead to structural issues over time. Verigee offered to provide estimated costs and a prioritized maintenance plan so the district can budget proactively instead of responding reactively to failures.
Board members thanked the consultant for a high‑level roadmap and noted that some insurance claims from prior hail damage had been handled in coordination with Verigee.
