Metuchen board gets construction update; field house expected Jan. 15, cafeteria Feb. 13

Board member Mr. Glassberg told the Metuchen Board of Education on Nov. 18 that construction projects across the district are nearing completion and provided target dates for remaining work.
Glassberg said Moss School construction is expected to be finished on or around Jan. 20, which would allow time for realignment next school year. Edgar Middle School landscaping and several punch-list items including basketball hoops and an LED sign are expected to be complete by mid-January. Campbell is largely finished aside from interior doors and hardware and some punch-list items.
At the high school, Glassberg said furniture for the new board office is scheduled for mid-January delivery, the field house addition is anticipated to be ready for use on Jan. 15, 2026, and the cafeteria renovation is scheduled to be complete Feb. 13, 2026; he said the cafeteria timeline stretches later because temporary board offices must move first.
Glassberg said the Campbell backfield leveling has been seeded and should be ready for spring use. The committee will meet again on Nov. 24 for further updates, he said.
