The Warrick County School Corporation board authorized administration to proceed with a proposed purchase-and-sale agreement for 8.03 acres of real estate adjacent to the Warrick Pathways and Career Center and approved associated routine finance items, district officials said.
Todd Armstrong presented the land transaction: the property (8.03 acres) is offered by Ray and Jan Allen and a termination of the seller’s right of first refusal was also part of the materials presented. Administration recommended authorization to proceed working with appropriate attorneys; the board approved the motion but one member abstained from the vote.
Earlier in the meeting, Dr. Redmond recommended the business department be authorized to make necessary year-end transfers of appropriations so that every fund ends the year with a positive balance as required by statute. The board also approved Resolution 2025-17, permitting the transfer of unused and unencumbered balances from the operations fund to the rainy-day fund.
Board members approved these routine finance and facilities items by voice vote. Administration said the transfers are standard year-end housekeeping to meet statutory requirements and that legal and counsel review will proceed on the land transaction prior to final execution.
