Clerk-Treasurer asks committee to respect statutory advisory role during finance oversight

"I don't feel like you get to just supervise and direct what I'm gonna report back to you," she added.
Marla said she attends meetings to provide explanations and that staff have been accommodating in producing additional reports, but that she does not have supervisory obligation to fulfill every ad-hoc request. She asked the committee to continue working collaboratively and to treat finance staff with professionalism.
Committee members responded that they saw their role as public servants and taxpayers requesting information and that their questions are part of oversight. The exchange closed without formal action.
The committee adjourned shortly afterward.
