Council removes unenforceable mobile-food rules after state preemption

“We can’t enforce what the state has preempted,” Speaker 1 said, describing the ordinance as cleanup to avoid having unenforceable language remain in the code. Speaker 3 moved to introduce the ordinance and Speaker 2 seconded; the motion to introduce passed as announced by the presiding member.
Next steps: The ordinance was introduced on first reading and will return with final language as required by council procedure.
