Councilman O'Plager moved to approve the agreement and authorize the chief to finalize and sign the agreement once the remaining procedural details were resolved; Councilman Keith Bonner seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 5–0. The chief noted the agreement had a state deadline of 01/01/2026 and said he would set up a meeting to resolve the concerns and return a finalized document.
The council asked to be kept informed to ensure compliance with state law prior to the deadline.
