Bartlett introduces new economic-development manager, previews website and welcomes Dobbs Brothers Chevrolet

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen used its Dec. 9 meeting to introduce new staff and announce community communications and business news.
Kim Taylor, director of planning and economic development, introduced Jared Myers as the city’s new economic development manager, housed in the planning department. Taylor said Myers brings more than a decade of experience, including leadership of the Heights Community Development Corporation; Myers told the board he is eager to meet business owners and work with the Chamber to promote growth.
Speaker Todd (city communications) previewed a new city website, beinbartlett.com, set to launch Jan. 1. He said the site will feature an events calendar, a “Be In The Know” section that links to social media updates, resources for businesses and prospective residents and a weekly email sign-up to reach residents who do not use social media.
Will Brigance, managing partner of the newly opened Dobbs Brothers Chevrolet in Bartlett (the purchase of the former Sarah’s Chevrolet location), introduced himself and encouraged residents to consider local vehicle purchases because sales tax revenue supports city services. Brigance said the dealership opened Monday and that he is a Bartlett High School graduate.
The announcements drew board appreciation and seasonal greetings; no formal actions were required for the personnel announcement or website preview.
