On Dec. 9 the Bartlett Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the second reading of Ordinance 25‑09, a rezoning request for 21.85 acres on the north side of Old Brownsville Road just west of Ellendale Road.
Kim Taylor, director of planning and economic development, said the change would reclassify the property from RS‑18 (single‑family residential) to RS‑15 (single‑family residential, partial) to allow an increase in density from two lots per acre to 2.5 lots per acre. The property includes a non‑buildable stream buffer along Old Brownsville Road, Taylor said, and the requested density aligns with RS‑15 zoning on the south side of the property. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on Nov. 3, 2025 and forwarded a favorable recommendation.
The board voted to approve the second reading and set a public hearing on the ordinance for Jan. 13, 2026. Further public comment and any final action will be taken after that public hearing.
