On personnel and administrative items, the council authorized Deputy Fire Chief Mihalic to contact the Fire & Police Commission to hire the next qualified candidate from the firefighter paramedic eligibility list and approved hiring two probationary police officers to fill vacancies created by resignations.
The council addressed handicap parking sign determinations: it concurred with the clerk's recommendation to remove handicapped parking signs where permits had not been renewed and approved new handicap parking sign requests at 1227 Elmwood Avenue and 1845 Oak Park Avenue.
